豪華なIMC / The extravagant IMC

IMCには、数千人の記者と１００人のNGOがいますが、これらの人たちのすべての食事が無料で提供されます。私たちも早速、レストラン「アラスカ」のビュッフェでたくさん食べました。この他に、和食レストランもありますし、北海道のチーズ食べ放題ワイン飲み放題もありました。NGOと記者はバッジの色が違っていて、記者だけが入れるスペースもあり、記者だけで食べられるお菓子もあります。建物の外は、クリスマスツリーのようなライトアップがとても輝いています。非常に莫大な費用が投じられていると実感しました。

There are several thousand media representatives and 100 NGO members at the IMC, and all meals are provided for free – we have just come back from a large meal at the buffet at “Alaska.” As well as this, there are Japanese restaurants, all-you-can-eat-and-drink Hokkaido cheese and wine and more… The badges for NGOs and media are a different colour, and there are also spaces which can only be entered by the press, and snacks only for the media. Outside the building are huge lit up decorations, including Christmas trees… every step in the building really shows just how much money has been invested in this whole facility.
